Brit star Lena Headey proves she doesn’t mind getting bloody and bruised while kicking some ass.

WIZARD: When “Terminator” debuts Jan. 14 on Fox, you’re the biggest badass on TV. What scenes are you filming today? Are you kicking all kinds of ass?

HEADEY: Well, if I told you, I’d have to kill you.

WIZARD: You’re covered in blood.

HEADEY: There’s a lot of blood.

WIZARD: Summer Glau—who plays the “good” Terminator protecting John Connor—got injured when a bullet casing burned her face. Any scary moments like that for you?

HEADEY: Yeah, she got capped in the face. [Laughs] I have avoided any such injury so far. There seems to be something happening on set where every time you have to punch a surface, and they tell you it’s breakable—it never breaks. It’s become its own legend on set. Whenever someone says, “Just punch it!” never punch it, because you’ll just hurt yourself. [Laughs] Nothing breaks!

WIZARD: What convinced you to take over Sarah Connor from the films’ Linda Hamilton?

HEADEY: I’ve never done a serial piece of drama before and I thought that would be interesting. There’s a lot of room for development. I think if you’re going to play someone for a long time, it has to be someone with a number of layers and, to me, Sarah kind of has that.

WIZARD: What was the nude time-travel scene like for you?

HEADEY: It was pretty cold but it wasn’t as cold, weirdly, as when we shot the exterior of the school. It was so cold that if you even touched your skin on the floor, it would kind of crack open. It was freezing. And I actually smashed [John Connor actor] Thomas [Dekker’s] head on the ground by accident. [Laughs] Because his hands were in handcuffs, they were like, “Be gentle with him” and I’m like, “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” And in the moment I yanked him out of the car and smashed his head on the concrete.

WIZARD: You seem like the only one who’s managed to avoid injury so far…

HEADEY: I know! It’s a touch weird.

WIZARD: Maybe you have a metal endoskeleton and you don’t even know it.

HEADEY: I know, right? Imagine! [Laughs]

WIZARD: Now, who’s tougher: your Queen Gorgo from “300” or your Sarah Connor?

HEADEY: [Laughs] Umm…I don’t know! I think they both have an edge to them. I think if Gorgo’s pride was in question or Sarah’s son’s life was in question, they’d both have a fair chance. Well, I think I have to get [back on set]. I’m covered in blood.Wizarduniverse.com – January 2, 2008
