Early in her career, British actress Lena Headey was regarded as a delicate English Rose, but she was too sexy and self-possesed for the label to stick, a fact confirmed by her performances in action dramas like 300 and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles – not to mention the seductive style she exudes on these pages at Hollywood nightspot Bardot.
Befitting of an actress from the charmning Yorkshire town of Huddersfield, Lena Headey began her career with roles in such buttoned-up, quintessentially English films as The Summer House and The Remains of the Day. But in recent years, the police officer’s daughter has graduated to increansingly edgy material, including The Brothers Grimm and last year’s Spartan-warrior opus 300, in which she earned critical praise as the formidable Quenn Gorgo.
Her most recent role is her most action-packed yer: the title role in the Fox network series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, based on the time-traveling sci-fi film franchise about a contemporary mother who must elude the relentless pursuit of a cyborg assassin sent from the future to kill her adolescent son, John.
Off-screen, Headey, who lives quietly in Los Angeles with her husband, musician Peter Paul Loughran, explores her edgier side at the tattoo parlor. Her amply inked body includes a lotus flower and a bird on her upper back, as well as butterflies on her right shoulder, stars on each arm, a large tribal design on her lower back and more.
